A landing page, sometimes known as a lead capture page, is a single web page that appears in response to clicking on an advertisement. In a business, when people visit your website, a landing page will give the viewers exactly what they need to see to stay. It is essentially a page that gets your audience to do what you want.
Understanding Landing Pages
A landing page is not necessarily just a page that looks good with flashy features. It has to be able to provoke action from the user that is browsing your page. Basically, a landing page is the cause whereas the action performed by users and potential customers are the effect. Therefore, a landing page must be relevant to the user. A landing page is what comes up after a user clicks on an advertisement or search engine result link and thus it must be a logical extension of the advertisement or link.

- There are various types of landing pages ranging from reference landing pages to call to action landing pages. Use the right one to your advantage.
- When using call to action landing pages, be attractive in your approach, but at the same time realistic. Otherwise, your website may seem too good to be true and disregarded.
- Landing pages have a specific purpose to fulfill so keep them simple, yet aesthetically pleasing.
- Ensure that the landing page is easy to navigate. Users will leave in frustration and confusion if the site is too hard to navigate.
- Having a specific purpose to fulfill, make it known and obvious what exactly that purpose is.
- Keep landing pages specific, targeted, and relevant.
